when it comes making decisions, a go to for many people is a pros and cons list (or we at least think we should make a list like this). It feels considered, rational, analytical. We think that this is what we should do.
But even though we like to think that we make decisions solely in our executive function area of the brain, in reality, deeper levels of our brain have a huge impact on how we make decisions. What do I mean? Well, think about this. How often have you said “I feel that this is the right thing to do?” Or “Follow your heart” or “I’m going with my gut” ?
All those are signs that you are tapping into the deeper levels of your brain. If you want a sleeker explanation, check out Simon Sinek’s golden circle clip https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l5Tw0PGcyN0
So this tip is about accessing those decision centres in a simple and constructive way.

You’ve got a few options and you’re struggling to decide. You’re asking yourself “how do I know which choice is right?”
I’m Amber from Amber Rahim Coaching and I’m a professionally trained coach.
I’m going to show you how to make good decisions.
Think about an item of clothing that you would always try on before you buy. For me it’s shoes, for some it’s jeans or a coat. We do this because we want to make sure it’s a right fit. And good decisions have a good fit too.
Here’s how you can “try on” your decisions:
For each option, take a couple of minutes to visualize it.
Close your eyes. It’s a month from now. You have chose option A.
What are you doing?
Who is with you?
What are you wearing?
What is your energy like?
How does this fit?
Try each option on. Choose the one with the best fit.
That’s how you make good decisions.
Let’s connect and talk about making good decisions together.
